Naxos Plaka Beach

General information

Plaka Beach in Naxos started as a nudist-friendly bay during the 60s and 70s and grew to become one of the island's most popular seashores, visited by families, young people, couples, and virtually everyone spending their holidays on the island.

The 4 km-long seashore of Plaka is a natural continuation of Agia Anna Beach, on the western side of the island, 8 km away from Naxos Town.

More about Plaka

It is covered with golden sand and has crystal clear blue waters, while it is worth mentioning that it has earned its place among the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
The seemingly endless beach offers a wild natural landscape of unique beauty, with sand dunes, big flat stones, and hints of vegetation.

Plaka is considered one of the best-developed beaches on the island in terms of tourist facilities. The beach is equipped to the most extent with sunbeds and sun umbrellas available for rent. However, heading to the southern parts will reveal some more pristine and secluded spots.
Restaurants, taverns, mini markets, bars, and cafes lie behind the sand dunes, while accommodation facilities in the area are plentiful. Watersport facilities lie across the shore as well.

Plaka beach is easy to reach as it can be approached by car. The road connects it to Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna beaches, too.
No parking area is available, but you can leave your car on the road along the coastline.
Alternatively, Plaka beach can be reached by bus from Naxos Town or one of the nearest beaches.

For your accommodation in Plaka, we provide a selection of amazing hotels, suites, apartments, and villas, located right by the seashore or within a short distance from the beach.

One of the best beaches on Naxos

Plaka was a beach we visited several times, because it simply has that "something". Naxos is probably the best Greek island for many, many things and each of its points of interest has something that distinguishes it. This beach is no different. You may not know what that is, but it is. The water colour is unbelievable (same goes for complete Naxos), and it is also unbelievably clear (same goes for complete Naxos). Very pleasant for swimming- sand, texture, depth... Nice beach, cute, not that visited, several trees to hide inside... You simply love it even without any reason. The only negative thing is that it is very close to the road, so you can expect some dust. One thing that surprised me on Naxos (same goes for this beach) - every single beach is nudist-friendly. 70% of people on all beaches were nudist, so have that in mind if you have problem with this. We went there in September, and I don't know the situation during July and August.

    Exotic turquoise water
Among the most beautiful beaches I have been, not only in Naxos but everywhere in my life. Exotic water with turquoise color, soft sand, very long beach. So long that it has places for everyone: for families, for couples, for the young who want to play beach volley and beach tennis, for nudists. Really delicious taverns by the beach and a couple of bars with fun music. Easy to go from every part of Naxos by bus. If you can get a room there, even better.

Just the no1 beach of Naxos
The longest sandy beach of the Cyclades. Around 10 km I think. Amazing white sand, carribean like sea colours. Watersports available there as well as many restaurants. You can also practice nudism on the south part of the beach.
